She got her first ear infection at ten weeks, and she's had them pretty regularly since then. It seems like as soon as she finishes the antibiotics, we are back at the pediatrician's office.
She got another ear infection at the beginning of May, and we made an appointment to talk about tubes. Here are some pictures of her last ear infection... even though she felt pretty terrible, she was mostly still her happy little self.
Granny, Papa and Mother came to visit and go to the Market the weekend after her ear infection started, so that helped her feel better too.
Since it has been a little over a year since her RSV and pneumonia, she was cleared for anesthesia, and when she had her last ear infection, we scheduled a visit with the ENT office.
She had surgery Wednesday to put tubes in both ears and remove her adenoids, and she is doing GREAT! The night before, we had to remove her fingernail polish and bathe her in antibacterial soap...
She was tired and a little off balance the first day, and she ran a little fever, but other than that, she has been totally normal.
Already, we can tell a difference in eating and speaking. She is eating so much better now, and she is talking to us more.
She got lots of presents... a new baby, band-aids, and Elmo boo-boo buddy, and she got to watch movies!!! That was a highlight for sure. We've seen every possible version of the Alvin and the Chipmunks movies.
We are hoping this will really put an end to all of her ear trouble and help her feel better. So sad having a sick baby, but very thankful for good medicine and all of our sweet doctors- bye bye sick ears!
