Sweet little pea,
You are growing way too fast! Seriously, everyone told us how quickly it would fly by, but this is ridiculous!!!
You are such a little toddler now. You are very independent, and you know what you want (in a good way). Because you are such an explorer and you are learning so much about the world around you, you sometimes have accidents and fall down. You had a couple of bad days this month- one at school and one at home. At school, you fell playing outside and busted your lip... look how sad you looked.
It got better in a couple of days, but you had a sore on the inside of your mouth, so it was a little hard for you to eat.
Then, at home, you were playing outside with your sidewalk chalk and you fell on the concrete and scuffed up your hand. It looked worse than it was, but you were a big girl and let us clean it with peroxide and put neosporin on it. You did NOT like the band-aid at all, though. It was more traumatic than the fall! You get that from Mama... I never liked band-aids. I would take shots with no tears as long as the nurse promised not to put a band-aid on me. It's ok to be a little quirky. I know these pictures are blurry, but I have to show you how passionate you were about those band-aids coming off! As fast as you could say it, you were saying, "Off, off, off," and signing please.
You are teaching us how to parent with new challenges and triumphs everyday, and we are trying our very best to do a good job.
You do not talk much, but you say Mama, Daddy, and Papa very clearly. You say something kind of like Jor or Dah for Jordan. We are working on saying Trick or Treat, and you will sometimes say Tre Tre. You say La-La sometimes for Aunt Laurie, and you will say Nana sometimes too. You have a word you say for ball, but it isn't very consistent yet. You say lots of things in your little language, though, and you will talk and talk and jabber sometimes. You get on a roll and say long sentences in babble :) We love it when you do that.
Even though you don't have the words yet, you understand so much! Daddy and I have realized this month just how much you understand and how much you watch us. It is a little scary for us, because we know we are setting an example for you. We can tell you to take your plate to the kitchen after supper, and you grab it with two hands and walk it carefully to the kitchen. You help throw things away, you can brush your teeth, you can put on your "lipstick," which is really just chapstick. You are Mommy's big helper, and you try to be a good listener and obey.
You are definitely learning boundaries and limits, and you test those everyday, but that is a toddler's job. You get time-outs now for one minute, but you seem to take them ok and we always talk about it when time out is over. It is working for now, and since you have no fear and pops on the hand are funny to you, we will stick with it :)
You even let your babies get ready for school with you... these are from "Owl Day" at school.
You love to tell us where to sit, and you pat the ground or the chair or whatever spot you want us to sit in. You know exactly where everyone is supposed to sit at the supper table.

You still love your babies, your passie at bedtime (you've recently started calling it a night-night for that reason), and your Mickey Mouse. This is how I found you and your babies sleeping the other night.
You love to check yourself out in the mirror when you are all dressed. Here you are looking in the living room mirror...
and here are some looking in Mama's jewelry cabinet mirror... please ignore all the fingerprints.
This month, you have really shown an interest in art! You are coloring more and more, and we have even painted a couple of times. You especially love shaving cream paint in the tub!

You went to visit Pansey and Cowarts a couple of times this month with Mommy. We were trying to give Daddy a couple of weekends to study before he takes the FE at the end of October.
You had fun swinging and running through the sprinkler with Papa.
You are loving to give hugs and kisses lately, and you will air kiss Jordan, your toys, really anything before we leave for school everyday. You make the mmm-wha sound and smoosh you lips up like you are giving a real kiss.
You are still in size 4 diapers and shoes, and you are in 18 month clothes. You weigh right at 21 pounds and you look taller. I can't wait to see your stats at your next well check.
You had your first haircut this month! Your hair was starting to hang down in your eyes, so we decided it was time for a baby trim. You were so brave and did such a good job sitting still and letting the stylist trim your bangs and your hair. We were a little sad, but we were so proud of you. You were very happy to get your sucker when you were all done!
We took a few before pictures to show you all the hair you had...
and here you are during the haircut.... You sat with Daddy so you wouldn't be scared, after you watched him get his haircut. You saw that it didn't hurt Daddy, and you did such a good job.
This is what it looked like afterwards- beautiful and we could see your pretty face!
You had to give Daddy a thank-you kiss for sitting with you in the big chair.
We love you so much, baby girl and can't wait to see what you will be up to next month!
Love,
Mommy and Daddy
