Dear Helen Claire,
Wow! This past month, has been so much fun! You are into everything right now. You can tell from the blurry picture how fast you are getting- you are even faster than Mama's camera! You are so close to walking, and you stand up on everything these days.
You have moved up to size 4 diapers, so I know you are growing. You also can no longer wear your 9-12 month clothes. You still fit in 12 month things for now, but I think you will be moving up soon. The funny thing is, you are still short enough for your 6, 6-9, 9 and 9-12 month clothes. You just need a little more room in the waist and a little more width in the arms. I guess we will be putting you in dresses or hemming every pair of pants we buy. You are wearing size three shoes... so little. You are just a little petite girl, and that is ok. You stay little as long as you want :)
You are such a good girl about playing on your own. You can play independently for about 15 minutes, especially when you play with your baby or play at your kitchen. You love to drag all the books out of your bookshelf, and you will sit on your play quilt and "read."
You are still a good eater, but lately, you do not like fruit. It is weird, because you used to LOVE blueberries, but now, you love throwing them in the floor or handing them back to me and Daddy. Jordan eats A LOT of blueberries. You also won't eat peaches anymore. You still like watermelon and canteloupe and bananas, but we will keep offering other fruits, too. Hopefully, you will start to like them again soon.
You have done great with your new schedule. You cried for about a week, only at night time, after your bath when we used to nurse. After that, you were used to it and now you only have your milk with supper. Daddy and I are so so proud of you!!!
You have had a few nights where you couldn't get settled or it's taken you a little longer to fall asleep, but I think that's pretty good for a little girl your age, and I think it is more related to your teeth. Oh, your teeth! Poor baby girl, you have been working on those top teeth since your first birthday. They aren't in totally yet, but we can see white, and that makes us so thankful!
Because you have more teeth now, we have added brushing teeth to our bedtime routine (we used to just clean your teeth with the washcloth in the tub). You like to do it yourself, and you are so so cute!
