Happy 4th of July

We stayed here in town for the fourth of July and had a potluck with some friends.  After supper, we drove down to watch the Thunder on the Mountain fireworks.  Since we didn't want to fight traffic and crowds getting into Vulcan, we literally just pulled off the side of the road, but so did everyone else between Mt. Brook and Homewood.  Here's a view of our little spot in the road...

Such a good time with great people, and Helen Claire loved watching the fireworks!

My pictures aren't very good, but I had to share this one.  The color was supposed to be red, but it looked more pink.  Every time one of these burst, Helen Claire would yell, "Yay, a pinkt one- do more!!!"  So funny!

Thank you Granny for her cute little tunic- she was so cute in her red, white and blue.

Happy Independence Day, everyone, and thank you to all the dedicated servicemen and women who fight for our freedom all year long so we can enjoy nights like this.
