Love Notes: 21 Months

Little girl,  you are 21 months old!!!

Your mama forgot to take a pig picture, and since we don't have photoshop, I did the next best thing and merged two pictures together.  It's not perfect, but at least it shows you next to pig so we can see how much you've grown.

21 Months

You have the best memory, little bean!  You remember how Mimi got choked on her medicine and Papa took her outside to help her.  You remember how we talked about the light being turned on at Mimi's house one morning, and now you love to say "Oh, wight, wight"  when I turn on your light every morning.  You know that I drive a green car and Daddy drives a "boo (blue)" truck. You amaze us at the things you remember now. This past month, we have been reading "Llama Llama Red Pajama" at night.  We have read it for a long time, but you usually ask for it now.  The other night, we were reading, and I thought I would try to just read all the way until llama is supposed to say “Mama” and see if you would fill in the word.  You did it!!!

I said, Llama, Llama Red Pajama, waiting waiting for his… and you said “Mama.”  So, we kept doing it for the whole book and you got it almost every time.  I was so proud.  We were so excited and proud of you!  Then you said, “Weed, me” so I thought you wanted me to read it to you again, but you meant you wanted to read.  So, you held the book and turned the pages, and you didn’t say every word, but you knew the right words to say on the right pages.  Like, when Baby Llama is in the bed yelling, you said "Cry yama," and on the page where the Mama goes crazy and drops the phone to run to llama, you said "Run, run".  You are such a big girl!

This month, Aunt Vickie, Uncle Chad and Mimi were here.  You were sick, so Uncle Chad and Daddy kept you while Mama, Aunt Vickie and Mimi went to eat with some friends.  When we got home, you were trying so hard to sing us a song, but we had no clue what you were doing.  We asked if you were trying to do a firework, and we finally figured out you were popping a balloon. I sent this email to Mrs. Jessica, and she explained it to us:

Did y’all blow up balloons last week?  All weekend, she was making this blowing sound and then she would yell, “Pop.”  We finally figured out she was pretending to blow up a balloon, and when I asked her where she learned to do that, she tried to say Jessica.  We were rolling it was so funny.  She’s a mess.

HAHA!  We sing a  balloon song a lot and you blow up the balloon and then it goes pop really loud.   They are obsessed with it! Get Michele to sing it to you tonight and then you can get her to do it with you.  They like it so much that we had to teach the lady that does dance with them on Mondays because they wouldn’t stop telling her to sing the balloon song…  They are such a mess!

You love to pack up a purse now and put your money in it.  You get your dolls and your car, and  you say bye-bye.  It is so cute and grown up and funny.  You keep us entertained, and we love watching you.

You are still working on language and will try new words.  If you can't say the word, you say "Dada," but we know you are trying.  Most of the time, you get all of your regular words, and you have even tried blending two words together.  You will say, "No, Dada" or "Up, Mama."  You don't do it all the time, but you are really working at it.  If you could stay well, I think you would be talking our ears off.

We LOVE the way you tell people you love them.  If we say, "Love you, Helen Claire" or "I love you," you say "Love you meeee..."  It is the best ever, and we say it like that all the time now.

You went back home with Mama one weekend this month while Daddy studied.  We spent some time at Maddy's house, and you had so much fun.  Maddy, Bryce and Bailey read to you (even though you just wanted to drive the stroller) and you had a dance party!  You love to tell us that Bryce knows Justin Bieber now anytime the song comes on!

Sorry for the blurriness, but there was no way to get a picture of how fast Bryce was dancing!

You are still working on your new teeth.  Your bottom two are coming along a little bit faster than the top two.  Once you get these four new teeth, you will have 16!  We have another dentist appointment coming up soon, so it will be fun to see what he says.

Sleep is getting a little bit better.  You have been sick some this month, which has a lot to do with your sleep issues, and we are considering going to see an ENT.  If we have to go back to Dr. Cortopassi for another ear infection, he is going to refer you to someone.  We are trying some no-cry sleep training, and it is getting a little better.  You are still waking up some during the night, but we are going to keep working on it and hope you start getting some good rest soon.

You are wearing 18-24 months clothes most of the time.  Some things are still 12-18 or 18 months.  Your feet are still a 5 or 5.5, depending on the shoe, and we might move up to a size 5 diaper soon.  You are still way beneath the weight limit for the size 4, but your night time diapers are soaking through your jammies.  We'll see how that goes next month.

We love you so much, Sweet Pea baby cakes Helen Claire bear.

Love you me,
Mama and Daddy
