Goodbye Room 5

Today was our last day in Room 5. Since Helen Claire started the school year in a watermelon dress, we picked a watermelon outfit for today.

Here she is this morning with Mrs. Mickey and Miss Lindsey

and this was on the first day of the school year

Earlier this week, the teachers threw a little party and showed a video of the babies' first year of school. We were all about to cry. It was precious, and they gave all the parents a DVD copy to take home. We have been so lucky to be with Mrs. Mickey and Miss Lindsey this year and will miss them so much. Here are some pictures from the party. The babies got to have snack and watch the video with us.

Crazy the difference this year has made! We are so grateful to Helen Claire's teachers. They have taught her so much this year, and we have been so impressed with how much all the babies have learned. There is no way I could do what those ladies do every day. Helen Claire can sign, she covers her mouth when she coughs, she knows how to use a napkin at the table... there are so many things that she learned about socialization this year, and I attribute all of that to Mrs. Mickey and Miss Lindsey. They will always have a special place in our hearts because we dropped our tiny two month old off with them, and they took care of her and loved her and eased our worries. Now, we have a big girl who will be heading off to Room 6- the toddler room- on Monday!
