Helen Claire Weekly

Okay, so we took a break for the holidays, but now we are back with our weekly updates. Helen Claire turned 30 weeks old on Thursday!!! I am having trouble with this, because I vividly remember being 30 weeks pregnant, which seems like it was just last week.

She is the most fun right now. Over the holidays, she practiced her waving skills and also learned to turn her wave into a thumbs up.

She is trying her best to "talk" to us, and she is very serious about it. She really wants us to know what she is trying to say. We think she may have said "da-da" or something similar, but it could have been a total fluke.

She is a pro at giving this very serious, stern face. She likes to do it when you ask her to wave for someone or smile for them. Instead, she puts her chin to her chest and raises her eyes to the person and stares them down. The receptionist at daycare even asked me why she was being so serious lately! She has a lot to think about, I guess.

She still loves to jump, still loves to read and sing, and still loves her baby doll. She is eating more and more solid foods now, as we continue to add veggies and fruits. So far, she eats everything. She loves Sweet Potatoes; they are definitely her favorite, but she will pretty much eat whatever is on the spoon. I love how she opens up her mouth now and knows exactly what to do.

We make jokes that her hair grows overnight, and it really does. Her hair is so thick now! I love it!

My favorite thing about Helen Claire right now is her little smile and laugh. She is starting to get her own sense of humor, and we don't have to work to make her laugh anymore. She will just smile or laugh when she thinks something is funny. It is so cute- her little toothless smile is so sweet!

We are going to try to keep up our weekly picture until she is a year old, but I'm not making any promises. The poor little pig gets thrown out of the chair, slung around by his neck... he may not make it many more weeks!
