Dear Helen Claire,
BIG NEWS: You have lots of teeth! You have worked so hard on getting teeth. You kept those same bottom two for a long time (4-5 Months), but now you finally have your top two teeth, and you have a gap!!! It is the cutest little gap ever.
You are also working on your back teeth on both sides on the top, and on your incisors on the bottom. It's so funny to look at you now, because you look so growny with more teeth. Bless your little baby heart, it has been a rough month with teething, but other than a few restless (thankfully, not sleepless) nights, you are doing great. You have slept with mommy and daddy a few nights, but it hasn't become a habit, and I know we will look back and remember those nights of snuggling our freshly washed, sweet smelling baby and be glad for the memories. So, I'm not too stressed out about it. You will only be this little for a short, short time.
You are not the same baby you were two months ago. It seems like since your first birthday, you have grown up so much. You are so big! Daddy and I aren't sure if it is because you are a few days from moving up to the toddler room (you will move across the hall from room 5 to room 6 on the 15th), or because now you play with your babies and take care of them like we used to take care of you, or because you went from walking 5 or 6 steps to full on walking in one week, but it is like POOF- all of the sudden, you are a toddler.
You are still in size 4 diapers, and you are in 12-18 or 18 month sized clothes, and this is your favorite outfit right now. The shirt has two little dogs driving a car, and you love animals, so I think that is why you like it so much.

You wear size 3 and some size 4 shoes. We had your foot measured when we were looking for back to school shoes, and they said you were a 3 and a half. You are back to being a fruit eater now, which makes your Mama very happy. You are still a good eater and will pretty much eat whatever we give you.
You have also started giving Eskimo kisses... one of mommy's favorites.
Recently, you have started playing school with your stuffed animals and dolls. You line them all up and you read to them. Daddy goes to your school, too, sometimes.

You also do the same thing with new clothes and you model them for me and Daddy. We say that you are "trying on your clothes," and you know exactly what we mean.
You can say a few words now, and you point to things and we label all the time. You say mama, daddy, da (also for daddy), huff (for Jordan- I think you are saying woof, and you kind of make a blowing noise), duck, look, book (these all kind of sound the same, but you know the difference and use them appropriately), bock-bock-bock (for chicken, and you LOVE it- it is your favorite animal sound), mmmm (when we ask you what the cow says), you can always find the cow on your milk carton, too. You also say hop and put up both your fingers when we talk about bunnies. You love bunnies and have a new onesie with two bunnies on it that you love to look at. You have lots of other noises too! I know that you understand most of what we say because we can ask you to find your cup, or throw your trash away, or brush your teeth, and you will do it. You are a very good listener, and we are so proud of you.
You are also starting to sing more and more. When we sing the Hot Dog Dance song from Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, you will do your little hands out and make the right sounds. You don't sing the words yet, but you sing the right notes and for the right amount of beats. You have a sweet, soft voice, and I love listening to you sing.
This month has been so fun Helen Claire bear, and we love our little sweetpea baby.
Mommy and Daddy
I am trying not to be too sad that you are growing out of your baby stage. I know this stage will go just as quickly, and then I will miss these days. So, we want to enjoy every age and every stage with you. Right now, you are just the most fun. You are so independent and want to do everything yourself. You can carry your purse now, and it has all of baby Sam Walton's diapers and his bottle in it. You give us this mischievous little look all the time, and we know you are up to something :)
Speaking of playing babies, you are the best little mommy in the world to your baby dolls. You can entertain yourself and play for a long time with them. You have some of your old burb cloths and blankies that you will lay down over and over again. You put your baby on top of the blankie and give it a bottle or your old newborn passie (sometimes you get a little of it for yourself, but I pretend not to see :). You pat the baby and get it to sleep and then you have to start all over again. You are so cute when you put your baby high up on your shoulder and walk it around. It is so so sweet to watch you.

You are a good mix of girly girl and dare devil. You love clothes and girl stuff, but you also love to jump on the couch, swing really high and get your Daddy to toss you up and down.
You love to take tissues, shirts, pants, wipes, any type of cloth really and make it into a bib. You lift your neck way up, put the material under it and put your chin down to hold it in place. Then you walk around with your little homemade "bib" and you are so proud of yourself.
