Helen Claire is one week old! I cannot believe it. I'm sure I will say that every week, but really, it feels like she just got here. She has had a big week, and she has done so much already for such a little girl:
- She was born!!!
Aunt Laurie swears she tried to raise her head on the first day, and she does move her neck up and down a lot! She is one smart girl. - She came home for the very first time
She got to meet so many family members and friends at the hospital, and she got to meet her Papa and Unk once she came home
She went to her first pediatrician visit with Dr. Cortopassi and had a perfect check up. Her birth weight was 7 pounds, 2 ounces and she was already back up to 7 pounds. She is learning how to nurse and we are learning each other better and better each day.
She got her first baths at home, with lots of help from Aunt Vickie and Mimi
She has lots of nicknames: C-bug, Claire Bear, Pirate Fred (from Mimi, who says she makes a pirate face), Sweetpea, Peanuckle (from Aunt Vickie), Tootie-bug (from Papa)

Awkward/Funny story from the week: My Papa called to check on us and see how we were doing with nursing. His words were, "How's the milking business?" It's amazing how nothing is off limits once you have a baby.
We really have had a good week, overall, and we hope next week is even better!
