First Gifts

The baby has already been so loved on, and I wanted to remember some of Sweetpea's first gifts. I guess the very first gift was a Curious George lullaby bear from Aunt Laurie and receiving blankets from my mother.  When they went to Las Vegas together, mother and Aunt Laurie got the baby a bear from Excalibur.  You can see from the picture that I don't have that on here- it is going to stay at mother's house so we can have toys there too.  Mom and Vickie also found a really sweet yellow wind-up giraffe that plays a little lullaby.  It is also going to live at her house, so it's not in the pictures.  Mother found the baby it's first cow toy- it is a cookies and milk cow that makes a "moo" sound when you tip it over.  It is so cute!

When we were home for Christmas, Sweetpea was one lucky little baby!  The baby got a stocking full of stuff:  a hat, a little bear, blankets, and bibs.  One of the bibs was really sweet because it said "Grandpa's Little One."  

If any of you know my Pa, you know he loves a baby, so that one will get lots of use.  

Another really special gift was from Newt.  Newt and I have been close for his whole life, and somewhere along the way, we started giving each other pigs.  I used to always call Newt piglet, and we would always say a little saying about pigs.  So, Newt officially welcomed the baby to our club and gave Sweetpea a piggy bank.  Here is a picture of Newt from Christmas for those of you who may not have seen him lately, and the pig is in the first picture. 

Aunt Vickie gave us all kinds of books, and a pig that goes with the book If you Give a Pig a Party.  The pig stayed home for now, because Jordan doesn't quite understand that all of the new toys aren't for her.  

Speaking of Jordan not quite getting it, here is a picture of our most recent gift.  Sherrelle, who I work with, and who is one of the most friendly baby-loving people you will ever meet, gave us some bath stuff.  It was great, because we didn't have anything for bath time.  She gave us a hooded towel, wash cloths, and three rubber duckies.  Well, the mommy duck is no longer with us.  Jordan took her beak off, so she got to be Jordan's toy, and now she is a pile of rubber scraps on the floor.  If you look closely in the picture, you can tell that mommy duck has a hole in her beak.  Looks like we will have to do a little new toy shopping for Jordan.
